By the end of this coaching skills course, participants will be able to:

  • describe the role and function of a coach and examine the skills and qualities required for the role and benefits arising
  • create supportive coaching relationships with staff
  • identify individual training and development needs
  • work with colleagues to help plan their development activities
  • provide one-to-one tuition in relevant skills and techniques
  • brief and debrief staff who are undertaking training and development activities provided by others
  • use review and feedback techniques to assess progress, set new objectives and improve plans
  • assist staff analyse and resolve problems and barriers to learning


coaching skills can be blended with training the trainer and other HR Management training modules
