However the employee relations course could enable participants to:

  • explain the impact personnel matters have on employee relations issues within the work place
  • describe the importance of personnel procedures and their place in managing effective employee relations
  • list employee legal rights
  • list HR management obligations in employment legislation
  • review working practices / environment forcompliance in employment legislation
  • handle the difficult task of dismissal or redundancy in a way that would minimise adverse employee relations repercussion
  • conduct grievance and disciplinary hearings that are both consistent and fair to maintain sound employee relations
  • support the organisation in an industrial tribunal
  • conduct a negotiation with employees
  • critically examine their negotiation performance
  • avoid employee relations problems arising but in the event that they do, provide effective assistance in their resolution
