With this selection interviewing course, participants will be able to:

  • prepare an employee selection interviewing process appropriate to different roles
  • short list interview candidates using role and personnel specifications
  • plan selection interviews to minimise the risk of poor decisions
  • practice questioning and listening skills in an interview situation
  • prepare the selection interviewing environment and plan for interview follow-up
  • incorporate the use of practical tests into the selection        interviewing process
  • analyse the result of interviews and select appropriate        candidates for employment, without bias or prejudice
  • seek references and notify candidates

selection interviewing contains many generic skills and therefore learning objectives can be extended to include other applications.
